Mountain Dew lined up NASCAR driver Darrell Waltrip for a social video. To get things moving, I did a deep dive into racing history.

The sport has deep roots in bootlegging, and an outlaw creed that runs from the Carolina hills to the track at Daytona and through movies like Smokey & the Bandit.

 That insight helped me script a Saturday morning romp about illicit beverages crossing state lines and a lead-footed driver determined to outrun the law.
